I never fully understood. Not as a lawyer: not even as I fought hard and strong for their rights. I mean, how do you leave? How do you cross seas on boats that don't even withstand calm weather; or deserts in the scorching heat? How do you flee in the middle of the night? How do you defect? How, admit defeat? How? It doesn't matter how. I too would run, now, from indefinite military service, civil unrest, war. From Libya, Syria, Eritrea, Russia or Ukraine. From Sudan. I too would run, and how. For I am now a mother, and I am a mother of two sons now.
